Ditch the Dull: Why a Soap Making Workshop is a Great Idea

Forget the awkward small talk and the same old playlist. It’s time to break the mould for your next big milestone! Whether you’re celebrating a 40th, a 50th, or planning the ultimate Hens Party, you need an event that is hands-on, high-energy, and a little bit rebellious.

Soap making isn’t just a craft, it’s a full-blown 3-hour sensory experience that turns your guests into creators and your venue into a boutique laboratory… just with a lot more laughs and a lot less seriousness.

A group of women gathered around a long wooden outdoor table, smiling and laughing while holding up colourful handmade soaps during a soap-making workshop. Each guest sits in front of a portable burner with a pot for melting soap base, surrounded by tools, fragrance oils, moulds, and mixing supplies spread across the table. Brightly coloured soaps in different shapes are visible in their hands, including pastel blues, yellows, and pinks. Drinks, including glasses of orange juice or cocktails, are placed around the table, adding to the relaxed party atmosphere. The setting appears to be a backyard or patio with greenery and plants in the background, creating a casual, social environment where everyone is engaged, chatting, and enjoying the hands-on activity together.

Suds, Scents, and Sisters: The Ultimate Soap-Making Soiree

Skip the predictable party and get hands-on with a three-hour workshop that’s actually worth the hype.

You and your crew will melt, scent, and pour custom goat’s milk soaps using premium oils like “Hotel Lobby” and shimmering chameleon pigments. Whether you’re crafting elegant floral bars or leaning into something a little more playful, it’s all about sipping, catching up, and getting properly into it.

It’s the perfect mix of high-end luxury and high-energy fun.

People start off chill…

then suddenly everyone’s comparing colours, swapping scents, and getting way too invested in how theirs is turning out.

That’s when you know it’s landed.

A collection of professional soap-making supplies including black bottles of "Hotel Lobby," "Australian Sandalwood," and "Wild Frangipani" fragrance oils alongside small jars of chameleon pigment powders and white silicone moulds.

The Secret Ingredient: Creamy Goats Milk Goodness

We aren’t making that harsh, store-bought stuff.

Our parties feature a premium goats milk base that feels like a spa treatment in the palm of your hand. It’s rich, moisturising, and provides that perfect creamy lather everyone loves, the kind that actually makes you stop and go “wait… this is really nice.”__

Your guests won’t just be making “decor”, they’ll be crafting high-quality skincare that actually nourishes the skin. The kind you use the next day and think, “okay… I didn’t expect it to turn out this good.”__

It’s soft. It’s smooth. It feels expensive.

And somehow… you made it yourself, drink in hand, laughing with your friends.

It’s luxury they’ll actually want to use! not something that ends up forgotten in a drawer a week later.

Make As Much As You Want (We Mean It)

This isn’t one of those “everyone makes one and that’s it” situations.

We don’t count how many you make.

We don’t watch how much you use.

If you want to carefully design a few perfect pieces, go for it.

If you want to go full production mode and make a whole collection, even better.

Most groups end up making way more than they expected.

Because honestly…

👉 we care more about how much fun you’re having than how much soap you’re using.

A colourful collection of artistic soaps including a lime green winged torso, a pink classical bust, a purple geometric teddy bear, a magenta rabbit, and detailed floral and paw print designs.

Scent, Swirl, and Style: Your Rules

This is where the excitement really bubbles up.

We bring a massive library of vibrant colours and intoxicating scents for you to play with. From zesty citrus and calming lavender to deep, earthy sandalwood, the power is in your hands to design a masterpiece.

Go for neon pops, elegant pastels, or shimmering micas, every guest walks away with a scent profile that is uniquely “them.”

But the best part?

It’s when you start mixing it all together.

Watching the mica colours swirl through the melted soap is actually so satisfying. The way it folds, blends, and shifts as you stir… it’s one of those moments where everyone kind of pauses and goes:

“wait… that looks so good.”

Some people go for clean, perfect blends.

Some go full chaos mode and just see what happens.

Both end up looking unreal.

Then you add your fragrance and suddenly the whole table smells incredible! everyone leaning over each other’s setups going:

“what scent did you use?”

“wait, smell this one.”

That’s when it really clicks.

Three handmade soap bars shaped like angel figures are displayed against a clean white background, each featuring detailed wings, flowing hair, and floral elements. The soaps are finished with vibrant mica pigments, creating a metallic, marbled effect in different colour combinations. The top left soap blends teal, purple, and gold tones, the top right features rich gold and orange hues, and the bottom soap combines green, blue, and purple shades. The intricate textures highlight the sculpted details of the angel design, showcasing the artistic and decorative results that can be achieved during a soap-making workshop.

Mica Magic: Let Your Imagination Run Wild with Colour

Prepare to let your imagination run wild with our dazzling mica colour pigments.

Whether you want a soft shimmer or something bold and electric, this is where your personality comes through.

And once you start… it’s hard to stop.

You add a bit more colour.

Give it another stir.

Watch it ripple through.

Suddenly you’re completely invested in getting it just right.

The swirls. The layers. The shimmer catching the light.

No two soaps come out the same, and that’s exactly why everyone ends up loving what they make.

Overhead view of a small black pot sitting on a green portable gas burner, filled with melted soap base mixed with shimmering gold mica pigment. The liquid inside forms smooth, swirling patterns as the metallic colour blends through the mixture, creating a marbled effect. The pot has a red handle and sits on a wooden outdoor table, with slight residue and splashes visible around the edges, showing the hands-on nature of the soap-making process. The image captures the moment of mixing colour into the melted base, highlighting the rich texture and glossy, fluid movement of the soap as it is prepared for pouring into moulds.

While the Soap Sets… The Party Kicks In

Soap needs a bit of time to set, which works perfectly.

Because that’s when everything loosens up.

Drinks get topped up.

Games kick off.

People start getting louder.

It never feels like waiting.

It just feels like the party keeps rolling.

A group of women gathered around a large outdoor table enjoying a soap making workshop, smiling and chatting as they mix and pour soaps using portable burners, moulds, and a variety of colourful ingredients. The table is filled with tools, fragrance oils, and finished soap pieces, while drinks like champagne and juice are placed among the materials. Set in a relaxed backyard setting with greenery and natural light, the scene captures a fun and social hens party or private group activity where guests are engaged, creative, and enjoying the experience together.

A Quick Tip… Bring the Right Drinks

This one works perfectly with cocktails.

This Is the Stuff You’ll Talk About After

This isn’t just fun in the moment.

It’s the stuff that comes up later.

Someone brings theirs out at the next catch-up.

Someone posts it and the group chat goes off.

Someone still can’t believe what they made.

Some get used.

Some get displayed.

Some become running jokes.

That’s what makes it stick.

Got a question about our hens party ideas and activities?

Our hens party ideas and activiities are fun! And we bet you have heaps of questions. Here are the most common questions hens organisers have asked us. Your question not answered here? Reach out to us!

Do we need to organise anything?

Nope, that’s the whole point. We bring everything. Set it up. Run the session. Pack it down.

You just Pick the location, bring the drinks and show up ready for a good time.

Will everyone actually enjoy it?

Yes of course other the hot hosts all the guests go home with something they made. You’ve got creativity, laughs, drinks, and a bit of friendly competition all mixed together. Whether someone’s super arty or just there for the vibes, it works for everyone.

Is it worth it?

You’re not just getting a class, you’re getting so much more. A fully hosted experience by a hot topless waiter or fabulous drag queen, all materials and premium supplies, built-in entertainment and Something to take home. It’s one of those rare activities where people leave saying, “Okay… that was actually so much fun.”

Are the scents used in the soap making and candle making good quality?

Yes, of course. We only use premium Australian-made fragrance oils from Luxaroma, so whether you’re making soaps or candles, they smell amazing and the scent lasts.

At the candles and soaps workshops what do we make at?

Not your standard stuff. No plain jars or blocks. You’ll be making sculpted pieces like dressed-up animals, detailed characters and fun statement designs. Think dogs in hats, elephants in suits, bold colours and finishes that actually look good once they’re done.

Want something a bit naughty? Check out the risqué options.

What kind of candles and soaps do we make?

No jars, no basic blocks. You’ll be making sculpted candles and soaps, from our large range of fun and unique moulds, detailed shapes, animals and custom pillars. It’s simple, creative and something you’ll actually want to keep.

Can we combine activities together cocktail making, soap making or even life drawing class?

Absolutely. Pairing activities together is a great way to keep the energy flowing and add a bit of surprise as things shift from one experience to the next. We recently had a group start with candle making before moving into a life drawing class. By the time the canvas came out and the clothes came off, everyone had already built a rapport with the host, so the reaction hit harder and the group got into it straight away.

Is soap making actually fun for a hens party?

Honestly, way more than people expect. Once everyone starts mixing colours, picking scents and seeing what everyone else is making, the whole thing gets very social very quickly.

What do we actually do during the workshop?

You’ll pick moulds, mix colours and scents, pour your soaps and customise everything while the host keeps the whole group entertained along the way.
