Popular favourites include the Band-Aid Game, Pin The Tail On The Hunk, bridal trivia, body shots and a few surprise challenges that always get the group involved. A Sneaky Surprise to Start the Party!

As the event kicks off, the bride and guests will be told that they’ll start with a calming meditation session. The group closes their eyes and starts to relax…

But that’s when the fun begins!

While they’re all ready to meditate, the model sneaks in wearing just an apron, adding a playful element of surprise. The model will then invite the bride-to-be (or guest-of-honour) to help with the next fun twist: removing the apron!

It’s all in good fun, and this moment gets everyone involved, laughing and cheering as the bride plays a starring role in the festivities.

Do We Need A Big Space?

Not at all.

We’ve run life drawing classes everywhere from luxury Sydney penthouses overlooking the harbour to cosy Airbnbs where half the group ended up sitting on the floor.

All we really need is a spot for the model to stand and somewhere for guests to sit with their sketch pads. Couches, dining chairs, outdoor furniture and even floor cushions work perfectly.

In fact, some of the funniest and most memorable hens parties we’ve attended have been in surprisingly small spaces. Once the laughs start and the drawing begins, nobody notices how big the room is.

So if you’re worried your venue might be too small, it probably isn’t.

What Happens To The Drawings?

This is one of the questions we get asked most often.

Some drawings end up looking surprisingly professional.

Others look absolutely nothing like the model.

Both are equally entertaining.

By the end of the class guests are usually passing sketches around the room, comparing artwork and laughing at some very creative interpretations. Some groups proudly take their drawings home, while others create a collection for the bride-to-be as a hilarious keepsake from the day.

What Are Some Classic Life Drawing Activities?

Life Drawing isn’t just about sitting quietly sketching. Some of the biggest laughs happen during the drawing activities themselves.

One of our favourites is Eyes On Me! You can’t look at your paper, only the model. It’s a great icebreaker because it quickly teaches everyone that it’s perfectly okay to stare. The drawings are usually terrible, which makes them even funnier.

Another classic is Continuous Line Drawing. Once your pencil touches the paper, it can’t come off. No stopping, no correcting and definitely no overthinking. Just one longgggg line from start to finish.

Then there’s Group Fun, or as I like to call it, The Orgy. The model strikes multiple poses that are all drawn on the same page, creating a hilarious mess of overlapping arms, legs and body parts.

And finally there’s Frankenstein. Everyone gets assigned a different body part to draw before combining them into one masterpiece. The results are usually horrifying, hilarious and guaranteed to get the whole room laughing.
