The Water Dragon cocktail is one of those drinks that instantly gets everyone asking, “Wait… what is THAT?” Bright pink, ice cold, loaded with dragon fruit and watermelon flavours, and finished with a black lava salt rim, it looks like something straight off a tropical cocktail menu in Bali. Fruity, refreshing, and a little dangerous because it goes down way too easily.
What You’ll Need 🛒
- 30ml Watermelon Liqueur
- 60ml Dry Gin
- 5 pieces Dragon Fruit (2cm cubes)
- 2 slices fresh dragon fruit (optional)
- Ice
Optional Garnish
- Extra dragon fruit for garnish
- Black lava sea salt

How To Make A Water Dragon Cocktail
Time to muddle, shake and pour the dragon. The secret to a good Water Dragon is keeping it super cold while letting the fresh dragon fruit do all the work.
- Add & Muddle The Dragon Fruit: Add the dragon fruit cubes into the cocktail shaker and use a muddler to gently break them up and release the flavour and colour.
- Add The Alcohol & Ice: Pour in the watermelon liqueur and dry gin, then fill the shaker with ice.
- Shake It Properly: Shake hard until the shaker feels freezing cold in your hands.
- Pour & Garnish: Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with fresh dragon fruit slices if you want it looking extra tropical.
Rim Garnish Method
Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and dip it into coarse black lava sea salt for an extra tropical cocktail look.

The Cocktail Everyone Notices First
The Water Dragon isn’t one of those boring cocktails that blends into the background. It’s colourful, fresh, tropical, and usually the drink everyone asks about the second they see it come out.
Make It Look Even Better 📸

- Use crushed ice for a fresher look
- Serve with watermelon wedges
- Add edible flowers for extra colour
